Somehow I have not talked much about Fae on here. This is peculiar because once we really get into Uthar Werld, you will find a great many of the beings you meet are Fae…. or Fae adjacent.
But that is not the point of the post, I just realized that I haven’t really posted a lot of Fae art, or even other creatures of northern European fantasy bent. DOn’t worry, there are plenty to come. In fact the main character of the actually show is Oxylus, who is the King of Doggerland and High Priest of Cernunnos… and it just so happens that Doggerland was a nation of Fae and that’s why the Danes mined beneath them and sank their land.
What is the point then?
Shit. I almost forgot. It is just to tell you that I added the drawing of “Tinkering her Bell”, which is a faery stroking the dewy petals of her flower, un the shade of a spring garden. You can get a print in my not quite famous Ukiyo A print over at Fortean Giftorium.
Before you go, enjoy this ridiculous sonnet I asked brainbot to kick out. No worse than any other Sonnet. *don’t @ me.
The Faery in the Garden
Beneath the moon, where silver whispers play,
A faery dances ‘midst the fragrant bloom,
Her gown of starlight, petals in array,
Each step exhaling sweet, intoxicant fume.
Her eyes, twin emeralds veiled in dusky sin,
Invite the night to drink her fleeting grace.
She weaves through honeysuckle, draws it in,
Its nectar painted on her laughing face.
With fingers deft, she plucks the dew-drenched rose,
Its thorns but lovers’ teeth upon her skin.
Each blossom bends to feel the breeze she throws,
And lilacs sigh where her soft wings have been.
Yet mortal eyes should tread this sight with care—
No garden leaves unscathed the fae’s affair.
