One of the ideas I tested—but ultimately didn’t pan out—was an artist profile page across my websites. It failed for a variety of reasons, most of which boil down to my own chaotic business practices (I’m just a creative making things, not a trained artist, businessperson, or coder), weak marketing, and general lack of structure. But that’s beside the point. The concept was simple: in exchange for a piece of content—some art pics and a short profile provided by the artist—they’d get another platform to showcase their work, and I’d get some extra traffic for the Cernunnos Foundation family of websites. Think of it like the bar model for musicians, but with no fees or obligations for the artists. While that project didn’t take off, I still love discovering and sharing incredible artists, and I recently came across one whose cryptid-inspired work is too good not to share.

Sherwin Quiambao is an artist whose work immediately caught my eye—bright, bold, and full of confident, dynamic linework. His style is active and engaging, and best of all, he brings to life the kind of creatures I love: cryptids, folklore legends, and the eerie, unexplained beings that make you wonder if they’re pure imagination or something lurking just beyond sight. I met Sherwin at the Bigfoot Jamboree in Ada, Ohio, in 2024—a small but well-attended event that turned out to be a great day. One of the highlights was being set up next to him and a younger family member (his cousin, I think), both of whom were incredibly friendly, helpful, and genuinely enjoyable to be around. They even went out of their way to keep their area clean and make the event run smoother—without being part of the organizing team. Long story short, Sherwin seems like the kind of person you’d want to work with: talented, professional, and just an all-around good guy. His illustration skills are top-notch, his eye for detail is incredible, and his love for cryptids, creepy creatures, and folklore is unmatched. If you’re into that world, you should absolutely support his work—or better yet, hire him if you can!
